Please meet the lovely Sammy. He has spent the last 3 years of his life shut in a small kennel in the Public Shelter. Unwanted, and not allowed out.
Life in the Public Shelter is harsh. The dogs are barely protected from the elements, imprisoned in tiny cages. They have the bare minimum to survive and no more. They are devoid of human contact, the stench and noise overwhelming. Unwanted and unloved. Now imagine if this been been your life for the last three years, this is Sammy’s reality. Caught by the Dog Catcher and sentenced to life without parole. The only tiny respite from his misery is on a Sunday when the volunteers come and for a few precious moments, Sammy escapes his cage and is shown compassion and affection.
When we found out about Sammy situation we knew we had to do something we couldn’t, we wouldn’t look the other way. We are so happy to tell you he will be coming to Happy’s very soon. His nightmare is finally going to end.
Sammy is 7/8 years old. Medium/Large Size. He is neutered and will be vaccinated. He will need an experienced home where he needs to be the only animal and no children. We will be assessing him when he arrives at our shelter so will know more about him.
