Leave A Gift In Your Will
Ensure your love for dogs lives on forever
If, like us, you’ve had the pleasure of welcoming a dog into your life, you’ll know how quickly they become your most trusted and loyal companion. Their unconditional love and affection creates a bond like no other – lovingly greeting you when you arrive home, enjoying a stroll around the park together and curling up next to you after a long day – they really do become your best friend.
For these reasons, here at 1 Dog At A Time Rescue UK, when a stray or abandoned dog comes to our Happy Tails Shelter they get the very best care and attention. Thanks to your support, our trusted rehoming programme has provided a safe and loving home to hundreds of our four-legged friends. “Every special gift makes a huge difference to a dogs life”.
Your special gift will
Pass on something wonderful
Gifts in Wills from dog lovers like you have transformed the lives of hundreds of stray and abandoned dogs. Leaving a special gift in your Will to 1 Dog At A Time Rescue UK, allows us to care for many more dogs in need of desperate love and attention.
Would you consider leaving a gift in your Will? We don’t receive any funding, so by including 1 Dog At A Time Rescue UK in your Will, you will help us to continue our work long into the future. Every gift, however small, is incredibly valuable and will make a real difference to the dogs out in Romania. Of course, we understand your loved ones come first, but after you have made sure your Will takes care of the important people in your life, would you consider leaving a gift to 1 Dog?
What about tax? A gift to charity is free from inheritance tax, and if you leave more than 10% of your entire estate to charity, then the total amount of inheritance tax you pay reduces from 40% to 36%.

How to include a special gift
Leaving a special gift in your Will to 1 Dog At A Time Rescue UK is easier than you might think – you can either:
- Write a new Will
The simplest way is to write a new Will. Once written, any Wills made by the person in the past become void. In fact, most Wills will start by stating that you’re writing a Will and that you’re revoking previous Wills.
- Update an existing Will
The other way is to write a codicil, which is a document used to make changes to an existing Will.
