Description:
Rocco’s Story – The day started like all days do in the dreadful Public Shelter.  A freezing cold morning, the overbearing stench and deafening noise from all the inmates trying desperately to call out to someone to take notice, their barks and whimpers are sadly in vain ..no one comes because no one cares.
Rocco has been incarcerated in this hell for over a year, with no comfort, no kind hand or gentle voice to caress him, he had all but given up hope of ever getting out.  But this day was going to be different.  As he left his kennel for the first time in months, he didn’t know it but he wouldn’t be coming back.
Rocco has now left the Public Shelter for good.  First there was a short journey to our vets clinic for a check up and then on to Happys.  Now Rocco is lying in his warm bed, listening to relaxing music with food and clean water by his side.  The public shelter thankfully now just a memory.

He is such sweet and friendly boy, he loves affection and desperate to be touched, just loves to be with someone.  He sometimes barks in the kennel, but this is just because he is trying to get your attention, once you go to him he stops.  Rocco is fine with calm dogs, he loves all the dogs at Happys but doesn’t like dominant or boisterous dogs – he is not good with cats.  He walks well on the lead.

We will be looking for an experienced bull breed owner who is kind, loving and patient.  Rocco will need a home in a rural/semi-rural area with a nice secure garden.  He so deserves a loving forever home and has so much love to give. If you think you could offer him a five-star home, please fill out a registration form and one of our rehoming team will be in touch.

Thank you for your interest in Rocco if you would like to apply to adopt one of our dogs, please read the ‘How do I Adopt’ pages, where you can find more information about the process and the costs involved.

As you can imagine, each one of our dogs is very precious to us, they haven’t had the best start in life and therefore it is absolutely crucial we find the right homes for them.  When you complete a registration form, please tell us as much as you can about why you are looking to adopt a dog and how you think you can meet their needs.  Every dog is an individual and our amazing rehoming team will know exactly what type of home each dog needs to thrive.  For example, will the dog cope with a small garden or is it the type of dog who needs to live in a rural environment?  Will the dog enjoy being around children, or is it best suited to an adult only home?  Will it cope sharing a home with other pets, or is it best as an only dog?  Are you outdoorsy types who like to go hiking, or would you prefer a dog who is happy to snuggle up on the sofa with you?  Our rehoming team will be very familiar with the needs of each of our dogs and the information you provide on your application form will help them to match you with the right dog.
