Description:
Our Shelter (Happys) is miles from anywhere, with a very busy main road out front and yet this big beautiful boy sauntered up the long drive way and announced his arrival.  Heaven knows what Milo was thinking or why he decided to turn up Happys drive way – we are just so happy he did and he’s one very lucky boy to have survived the road and very clever too.
Milo is approx 2 years old, large size approx 40 kgs, he’s incredibly sweet and gentle and so affectionate.  He quickly won the hearts of everyone at Happys.  He’s a very special boy.  Milo would love a nice secure garden to call his own.  He will need an active, large breed experienced home, one who will not only love and cherish him forever, but willing to nurture, encourage and teach him to reach his full potential.
What Milo needs:-
  • 6ft secure fence all around a large garden
  • Large house as he is a big bouncy boy and needs space
  • A female friend to play with, not essential but would be nice
  • No children under 10yrs as he could knock over younger children
  • No cats or small furries
  • Rural location with long walks on the doorstep

UPDATE FROM FOSTER FAMILY

Milo is a people dog, he would prefer human company, but also very good with other dogs, never pulls or fusses on the lead he plays well with the other dogs in the home. He’s still a big puppy, he loves his toys and will take your items so likes something of his own to chew. His puppy enthusiasm shows when he puts his paws on your shoulders or takes your hand in his mouth to get your attention, easily stopped with a firm ‘no’.   He is clean in the house, which surprised us as he was messy in the kennel.  Everyone who meets him falls in love with him – it’s the Milo effect!

Milo walks very nicely on the lead and is happy to sit outside the pub.  He happily jumps in the car and travels well.  He is happy to be brushed and bathed, he settles well at night from 10pm until we get up.  He has been known to react if food is taken away.  If he has something I don’t want him to have, I just replace it with his toy.  His recall is getting there and will be amazing with someone who has the time to put training in place.  Milo is a very loyal dog, he loves to lay with me all the time and is looking for you if you leave the room.

If you have space in your heart and home for our handsome Milo and you think you can meet his needs, please fill out a registration form for him and one of our rehoming team will be in touch.

Thank you for your interest in Milo if you would like to apply to adopt one of our dogs, please read the ‘How do I Adopt’ pages, where you can find more information about the process and the costs involved.

As you can imagine, each one of our dogs is very precious to us, they haven’t had the best start in life and therefore it is absolutely crucial we find the right homes for them.  When you complete a registration form, please tell us as much as you can about why you are looking to adopt a dog and how you think you can meet their needs.  Every dog is an individual and our amazing rehoming team will know exactly what type of home each dog needs to thrive.  For example, will the dog cope with a small garden or is it the type of dog who needs to live in a rural environment?  Will the dog enjoy being around children, or is it best suited to an adult only home?  Will it cope sharing a home with other pets, or is it best as an only dog?  Are you outdoorsy types who like to go hiking, or would you prefer a dog who is happy to snuggle up on the sofa with you?  Our rehoming team will be very familiar with the needs of each of our dogs and the information you provide on your application form will help them to match you with the right dog.
