Description:
Lena spent her first 5 months at Happys kennels in Romania after being found with her mother and littermates at a very young age. Lena travelled to the UK in April 2021 with her brother Beau, with whom she was very tightly bonded, and they lived together with a loving family. Tragically, Littermate Syndrome made it impossible for Lena and Beau to live together. Both received a lot of training around learning how to cope without relying on each other and they are now a lot happier living separately. Although incredibly sad for their current owners Lena is now ready to flourish in a new home where she can begin her new adventure.
The wonderful: Lena is a sweet-natured loving dog and would sit forever in front of you lapping up strokes and being groomed. Lena is great with other dogs and loves to play. Lena can also entertain herself and loves playing with her toys and running around in the garden playing chase. She would be just as happy in a home as an ‘only dog’ as she would in a home with another calm dog playmate that she can learn from. She is particularly fond of her Kong toy full of frozen natural yoghurt. She travels well in the car and loves going for walks in the countryside. Lena does not bother you at the dinner table and she sleeps soundly through the night on a dog bed next to her owners bed. Lena now also loves meeting new people which is testament to how far she has come since arriving in the UK. Lena is progressing well with training and has completed 2 junior training courses as well as playing beautifully at puppy socialisation classes. As well as basic training, Lena has been learning recall with a whistle and responds very well. A new owner should continue her training classes and her socialisation with other dogs as well as people. Lena has now very much decompressed from her journey to the UK from Romania.
The quirks: Lena is far more confident now but can still occasionally show some nervousness when coping with new experiences. Lena is house-trained and asks to go out by coming and giving you a lick.
Home environment: A rural location would be better for Lena as she can be sensitive to noise but becoming less so over time.
Children: Lena hasn’t lived with children and, although she has been very friendly to children when she has met them, her new home should not include children due to their unpredictability.
Cats: Has shown a promising start with tolerating cats but would ideally find a home without cat friends as her response to living with them is still not known.

One of our volunteers is currently meeting with Lena in kennels and taking her for walks and this is what she has to say about her –  This beautiful girl is stunning, even more so when you meet her. Such a beautiful soft, white coat with beautiful patch markings. She is very good out walking but can get excited when she sees other dogs and will tend to pull towards them with excitement to play, so some further lead training would be ideal. She can be a little nervous at first meet but she is a real people dog and within no time she will be giving you the best kisses. She absolutely loves cuddles and is always up for your attention. A true princess
