Description:

Izzy’s story is one of heartbreak, resilience, and an unbreakable spirit. This sweet, gentle soul was found in the freezing snow, miles from anywhere, desperately trying to protect her six tiny pups—Evie, Elsa, Emmie, Oscar, Otto, and Eddie. She had already endured so much, yet she never gave up on her little ones.

Izzy has only one eye, and she is paralyzed. She has undergone X-rays to determine the cause, but through it all, her loving nature has never wavered. She is incredibly sweet, radiating warmth despite the hardships she’s faced. Izzy deserves a second chance—a home where she will be safe, loved, and cared for, just as she fought to care for her own pups. She will need extra patience and support, but what she will give in return is beyond measure: unconditional love, gratitude, and a heart full of loyalty.

Will you be the one to show Izzy that kindness still exists? That she is not forgotten? She is waiting for someone very special to give her the life she has always deserved. Could that someone be you?

Izzy is currently in a foster home in Scotland, but the foster home is struggling with an existing dog who will just not accept Izzy.  Therefore Izzy urgently needs a new home urgently, one full of love, patience, gentleness and love.  Izzy simply cannot go into kennels, she needs help with toileting, she needs her bedding changed, she needs her skin looked after and her wheels fitted.  She needs care, attention and compassion.  But above all things, our sweet girl needs love and to be in an inclusive home.

Who is Izzy?  She is love, pure, forgiving, unconditional love.  She doesn’t ask for much, just to be near you, to feel safe, to be held.  She adores people, is good around calm dogs, chickens and cats.  She is vaccinated, blood tested and comes with full rescue back-up.  Despite the trauma of her time on the streets, Izzy is happy, funny, gentle, affectionate and oh so brave.  She scoots around the house with joy and chooses to nestle as close to her human as she can.  She’s learning to walk in her beautiful new pink wheels and has already tasted doggy ice-cream.  She loves sunbathing and rolling in the grass.  She has feeling in one of her legs and who knows, with proper care and treatment, she may learn to walk again.  But even if she doesn’t — she already carries the spirit of a dog who has survived the worst and still chooses to love.

She’ll need someone with time, compassion, and patience.
She needs help to stay clean and comfortable. She needs easy assess to a garden with soft grass, space to roam safely, and someone who can help her live her best life with her wheels and her cheeky smile. But more than anything, she needs love. The kind of love that holds space for her when she’s unsure. The kind that sees the soul behind the injury.  The kind that says, “You’re safe now. You’re home.”
But in return she will love you with a depth you’ve never known.  She will look at you like you hung the stars. She will give you everything.  Because that’s who Izzy is.  She gives, even when there’s nothing left.
Now she just needs someone to give her the final, most important piece of her story—a home to call her own.

Thank you for your interest in Izzy. If you would like to apply to adopt one of our dogs, please read the ‘How do I Adopt’ pages, where you can find more information about the process and the costs involved.

As you can imagine, each one of our dogs is very precious to us, they haven’t had the best start in life and therefore it is absolutely crucial we find the right homes for them. When you complete a registration form, please tell us as much as you can about why you are looking to adopt a dog and how you think you can meet their needs. Every dog is an individual and our amazing rehoming team will know exactly what type of home each dog needs to thrive. For example, will the dog cope with a small garden or is it the type of dog who needs to live in a rural environment? Will the dog enjoy being around children, or is it best suited to an adult only home? Will it cope sharing a home with other pets, or is it best as an only dog? Are you outdoorsy types who like to go hiking, or would you prefer a dog who is happy to snuggle up on the sofa with you? Our rehoming team will be very familiar with the needs of each of our dogs and the information you provide on your application form will help them to match you with the right dog.

We’d love to chat…
