Description:

Introducing EDWARD! Just Look at this little face.

It’s hard to believe that just a short while ago Edward was dodging traffic on the streets. He was terrifyingly close to being run over when a friend Dora spotted him, managed to scoop him up, and bring him to safety. Now he’s safe at the shelter, but this sweet little man is meant for a couch, not a kennel.

Edward has a HUGE personality and an even bigger heart. He is a typical little Rommie, full of character and the reason we all love these adorable dogs. The first day in kennels he managed to squeeze himself through a tiny hole into the neighbouring pen so he is looking for a nice secure garden. He is small enough to fit anywhere and brave enough to fear absolutely nothing. How could you not fall in love with him?

If you sit down, he is already in your lap. Kisses and belly rubs are his absolute love language. He’s always ready for walks, adventures and playtime. He has a Small body, but a totally fearless spirit. He loves exploring and making friends with dogs of all sizes. Edward is super friendly with all the shelter dogs , though he can be a little pushy if he isn’t corrected in time. He’s incredibly playful and agile (typical young small dog). He just knows exactly how to make you love him. He’ll immediately flip over to show you his belly. He’s learnt to sit calmly, wait for his food, and stay at his own plate. He walks really well on the lead, and recently went on a nice walk with two other dogs and was brilliant with them.

We are looking for a rural or semi-rural home with a very secure garden and plenty of lawn to run and play, owners with rescue experience who understand the patience and time it takes for a dog to transition from “survival mode” to “family pet,” and someone home most of the day. Edward needs another friendly dog in the home to play with and, more importantly, to learn from and older children only please. Edward is not cat tested

If you are looking for a loyal, fun, lap-loving, boy to share your life with look no further Edward is your boy. If Edward has just won your heart please get in touch

Thank you for your interest in Edward. If you would like to apply to adopt one of our dogs, please read the ‘How do I Adopt’ pages, where you can find more information about the process and the costs involved.

As you can imagine, each one of our dogs is very precious to us, they haven’t had the best start in life and therefore it is absolutely crucial we find the right homes for them.  When you complete a registration form, please tell us as much as you can about why you are looking to adopt a dog and how you think you can meet their needs.  Every dog is an individual and our amazing rehoming team will know exactly what type of home each dog needs to thrive.  For example, will the dog cope with a small garden or is it the type of dog who needs to live in a rural environment?  Will the dog enjoy being around children, or is it best suited to an adult only home?  Will it cope sharing a home with other pets, or is it best as an only dog?  Are you outdoorsy types who like to go hiking, or would you prefer a dog who is happy to snuggle up on the sofa with you?  Our rehoming team will be very familiar with the needs of each of our dogs and the information you provide on your application form will help them to match you with the right dog.

We’d love to chat…
