Description:

Asher is a gentle, sensitive soul who has come such a long way. He has spent the last few months flourishing under the care of his absolutely wonderful foster family, who have given him the stability and love he needed to start trusting the world again. We are so grateful for everything they’ve done for him, but due to their own upcoming family commitments, we now have a goal. Asher needs to find his forever family by the beginning of March. We want to ensure this sweet boy moves straight into a permanent home so he doesn’t lose the incredible progress he’s made. He’s worked so hard to find his feet, we don’t want him to have to face the stress of a kennel environment.

Asher is an absolute dream dog. He is clean in the house, walks beautifully on a lead, and is non-reactive to people or other dogs while out. He seeks reassurance from his humans and finds great comfort in the company of other dogs. He is great with other dogs and cats

He has started to play, he is learning recall and prefers to follow a leader rather than take charge. Inside the home, Asher can still be fearful of some men and may bark. However, he is learning to trust his foster dad more every day. He doesn’t need “fixing” … he just needs a patient, calm environment and a “mentor” dog or two to show him the ropes. Asher needs a calm, patient, preferably female-led household (Someone with experience with nervous rescues who is happy to let Asher move at his own pace) in a quiet rural or semi-rural setting with a secure garden and at least one friendly resident dog is a must to help his confidence.

Asher is currently in Wales. To ensure the perfect match, he will need several meet-and-greets. To make this easier, his amazing foster parents have a self-contained annex on-site where potential adopters can stay, allowing you to spend quality, pressure-free time getting to know Asher in a space where he feels safe.

Asher is affectionate, loyal, and a truly sweet-natured soul. Asher has worked so hard to find stability. Please help us make sure he never has to feel lost again. Are You Ready to open your heart?

Thank you for your interest in Asher. If you would like to apply to adopt one of our dogs, please read the ‘How do I Adopt’ pages, where you can find more information about the process and the costs involved.

As you can imagine, each one of our dogs is very precious to us, they haven’t had the best start in life and therefore it is absolutely crucial we find the right homes for them. When you complete a registration form, please tell us as much as you can about why you are looking to adopt a dog and how you think you can meet their needs. Every dog is an individual and our amazing rehoming team will know exactly what type of home each dog needs to thrive. For example, will the dog cope with a small garden or is it the type of dog who needs to live in a rural environment? Will the dog enjoy being around children, or is it best suited to an adult only home? Will it cope sharing a home with other pets, or is it best as an only dog? Are you outdoorsy types who like to go hiking, or would you prefer a dog who is happy to snuggle up on the sofa with you? Our rehoming team will be very familiar with the needs of each of our dogs and the information you provide on your application form will help them to match you with the right dog.
