Description:
I thought I was home forever!
My name is Nisha, and for the last 7 years and 8 months, I haven’t had a worry in the world. I arrived from Romania when I was just a tiny 4 month old pup, wide-eyed and hopeful. I found my family, I grew up with them, I watched the children turn into teenagers and I learned every nook and cranny of my garden and every soft spot on the sofa.
Last month, I celebrated my 8th birthday. I thought I’d be spending the rest of my senior years right here with my family, the people I love, but life has changed, and through no fault of my own, I have to say goodbye. My heart is a little heavy, but it is still so full of love to give.
I am a “small Labrador” sized girl with a beautiful salt-and-pepper face that shows I’ve lived a life full of stories.
I am well-behaved, patient, and very affectionate. I am a professional at “the lean”
I’ll press right up against you when I know you need a hug. I can sleep and sunbathe all day long, but the second you grab my lead, I’m a youngster again, I love my countryside walks and a good “zoomie” in the grass. I tell my humans I’m just “tolerating” the cats, but I secretly love it when they rub against my legs.
I’ve even lived with chickens and didn’t mind them one bit. I’ll do almost any trick for a treat. I love agility games in the garden and having “conversations” with my mum. I’m a very good listener.
Because I am a rescue girl, I am nervous about strangers and will bark to tell them I’m unsure. I just need a little time to see that you’re safe. Once I know you, I am your shadow and your best friend.
My dream home would be rural or semi-rural, I love the quiet of the countryside.
Have a secure garden; Somewhere I can wander in and out of the door during the summer. Have a female presence; I tend to bond more closely with women, so a home with a “mum” is a must for me. I love my human siblings, but I’d prefer a home without very young children now that I’m getting a bit older.
I haven’t lived with another dog since I was a baby, but if we match well, I’d love a friend, otherwise I’m happy being your one and only.
I am healthy, fully vaccinated, spayed and I promise to be the most loyal companion you’ve ever had. I just want to belong again. I want to know that when I go to sleep at night, I am finally, truly home. Please, will you be the one to keep the promise I thought I already had? If you have space in your heart for a girl like me, please hurry
Thank you for your interest in Nisha. If you would like to apply to adopt one of our dogs, please read the ‘How do I Adopt’ pages, where you can find more information about the process and the costs involved.
As you can imagine, each one of our dogs is very precious to us, they haven’t had the best start in life and therefore it is absolutely crucial we find the right homes for them. When you complete a registration form, please tell us as much as you can about why you are looking to adopt a dog and how you think you can meet their needs. Every dog is an individual and our amazing rehoming team will know exactly what type of home each dog needs to thrive. For example, will the dog cope with a small garden or is it the type of dog who needs to live in a rural environment? Will the dog enjoy being around children, or is it best suited to an adult only home? Will it cope sharing a home with other pets, or is it best as an only dog? Are you outdoorsy types who like to go hiking, or would you prefer a dog who is happy to snuggle up on the sofa with you? Our rehoming team will be very familiar with the needs of each of our dogs and the information you provide on your application form will help them to match you with the right dog.
